In an age of information overload a protracted period of silence can be a balm to the soul.
When you enter deeply into silence your senses seem to be more alert. You suddenly notice things around that you had not been aware off before. You may notice the sometimes minuscule beauties of creation around you. Like this flower of the wild carrot (daucus carota) which flowers abundantly at this time of the year here in Europe. Ever noticed the little purple ‘something’ at the centre?
You cannot help but marvel at the beauty and the amazing profligacy of creation.
‘And God saw that it was good’… Laudato sii.
