Southark, UK: Mass to Celebrate 101st Birthday of Bl. Oscar Romero

St George’s Cathedral, Southwark, houses the National Shrine to Blessed Oscar Romero, including relics of the soon-to-be saint, which sit in a specially commissioned cross. The four-metre high three-dimensional painted Salvadoran Cross is a permanent memorial in Southwark to Archbishop Oscar Romero who was assassinated in El Salvador in 1980. He was gunned down whilst celebrating Mass in his own diocese of San Salvador.
