Novena

10 - 18 March 2017

Joseph was very much a silent witness for God. He could be perceived as ‘a quiet man’. His private life and working his craft as a local carpenter suddenly changed with God’s intervention. Joseph allowed himself to be disturbed.

He was propelled into the public domain; however, he remained ordinary and humble, never drawing attention to himself. This I think is one of his finer characteristics.

Yet he was clear about his mission and vocation. It was a ministry of service. A service that nurtured, built and sustained family, community and God. He was steadfast, available, practical, committed and engaged in the pivotal role he played in salvation history. He was obedient and surrendered all to God’s will.
