Fr Sjaak de Boer mhm
Fr Sjaak de Boer mhm has many irons in the fire.
He is the priest-in-charge of the international parish in The Hague, the Church of Christ the Saviour, where he recently celebrated the 30th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood.
In close correlation with his multiple pastoral duties Fr de Boer also has a number of international commitments among others as member of the board of the international development agency CORDAID.
In his own words:
I was overwhelmed with the turnout for my 30th ordination anniversary which had over 1100 people at the festive Mass. After that I left for São Paulo to speak to a gathering of business people about 'Laudato Si' in relation to the new Millennium Goals.
"Next I went with the Cordaid CEO Kees Zevenbergen for meetings in Rome. These include meetings with the managing Caritas Director Jacob Winter and Cardinal Tagle, with Mgr. Alfred Xuareb from the finance office and on another day with the Dutch Ambassador Prince Jaime. A meeting with Cardinal Turkson was pending. And to crown it all a meeting with Pope Francis some days later!"
