"It illustrates how my philosophy and theology developed since I joined Mill Hill as a minor seminarian in September 1941".

HOLY WEEK 2016

Once you accept
That space and time had their origin in nowhere and never,
Yes, then it is not hard to see
That my dreams go back to before the Big Bang.

Once you accept
That hydrogen was out to marry oxygen,
Yes, then it is not hard to see
That atoms wanted to learn how to breathe.

Once you accept
That nature was not a happy-go-lucky gamble,
Yes, then it is not hard to see
That molecules wanted to do “You”.

Resurrection, Nyalenda, Kisumu

Once you accept
That life resisted obliteration,
Yes, then it is not hard to see
That cells took to saying “Mother”.

Once you accept
That creating has infected our bloodline,
Yes, then it is not hard to see
That some death could infect the Creator.

Once you accept
That with Jesus God Almighty died,
Yes, then it looks right
That Jesus should be the first candidate for resurrection.
